Not only our menu changes again and again, as just now at the start of the new week. We also attach great importance to diversity in our wine selection. So that there is no boredom when enjoying wine, we always include new wines in our offer and want to present our new favorites from left to right in this post:
“Horizont” – a Grüner Veltliner from the Winery Herbert Zillinger in Lower Austria. A Natural Wine: unfiltered, unembellished and without the addition of sulfur. On the nose it unfolds aromas of grape jelly, yellow apple, apricot and hay flowers, on the palate it is characterized by a rather dense mosty texture and aromas of rosehip, apricot and bacon pear.
“Dürsteiner Riesling Smaragd” produced in one of Austria’s most famous wineries in the Wachau: FX Pichler. Wine Advocate Robert Parker jun already said: “What Château Latour is in Bordeaux, and Romanée-Conti in Burgundy, F.X. Pichler is for the Wachau.” The Dürsteiner Riesling Emerald is characterized by its fruity, mineral, exotic and aromatic notes.
“Kalk und Stein” from Weingut Rings,an organic winery from Freinsheim – managed by the brothers Steffen and Andi Rings. Lime and stone consists of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Blanc and is therefore a cuvée. It was aged in the wood on the full yeast and pulled unfiltered and unembellished on the bottle. The cuvée can be described by aromas such as pear, melon, nut, white flowers, toast and flint.
“Chassagne Montrachet” from domaine Bernard Moreau. 100% Chardonnay aged in barriques. The Chardonnays from Burgundy are famous for their minerality, finesse and great shelf life.
“Fumé Blanc” from Weingut Bietighöfer. The biodynamic winery Bietighöfer in the Southern Palatinate in Billigheim Ingenheim, led by Stefan Bietighöfer and his wife Julia, we have new on our menu, which we are very happy about. Together with Stefan Dorst, the aforementioned cuvée, 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillion, was created – inspired by the great wines of Bordeaux. It shines with complex notes of mango, lychee, rose petals, pineapple and pepper – particularly soft, supple and powerful on the palate.
“Chardonnay Grand Reserve”, also this wine comes from the winery Bietighöfer and belongs from now on to our wine selection. It is characterized by aromas of honeydew melon, pineapple, pear, almonds, brioche, hazelnuts.
Have you become curious? Feel free to try one of these wines with us at the lake! And our new menu also invites you to try it. Cheers and a good appetite!
